Bailey! Hidden Gem

Published on 30 August 2025 at 08:12

You guys! You have absolutely no idea what I have just stumbled upon an absolute gem tucked away in the mountains of Bailey, Colorado. This trip wasn’t even planned (you know how spontaneous and crazy Mr. B can be). One minute we’re home, the next we’re packing up and heading out with all the kids for a weekend escape!

Driving up the mountains from the airport last night was both thrilling and nerve-racking. Picture this: winding roads, complete darkness, and unexpected animals darting across the road, ok I lied, one Deer!!!!  My anxiety nearly took over, but once we reached this majestic house, our Airbnb spot for the weekend, I knew it was worth every second of the ride.

The house itself was beyond amazing. Pictures online? They don’t even come close to the reality of this place. It’s one of those locations you simply have to see in person. After settling the kids, everyone retired for the night, and I finally got a good amount of rest.

And then came the morning.

Let me tell you, waking up here was the icing on the cake. I had shut all the curtains the night before (half-jokingly thinking a curious bear might wander by to say hello). But when I pulled them open this morning… wow. Just wow. The view stopped me in my tracks.

The mountains. The endless sky. The stillness of nature that makes you feel both small and powerful at the same time. The kind of scenery that leaves you speechless, whispering “God is great” under your breath, because truly, only He could design such a masterpiece.

The beauty here is breathtaking. The air feels cleaner, Colder, fresher, more alive. I couldn’t stop myself from saying “wow” over and over again—more times than an ambulance siren, I promise you! And yet, in the middle of this awe, a thought hit me, kids nowadays don’t indulge in nature the way they should. They’re glued to screens, while right outside, the world is waiting to amaze them.

This trip to Bailey has been a reset button for me. A reminder of what matters. A reminder to pause, breathe, and just see.

So, if you’ve been searching for a destination that’s equal parts peaceful, wild, and jaw-droppingly beautiful, Bailey, Colorado should be at the top of your list. Trust me, you’ll leave with your heart full and your spirit refreshed.

For now, I’ll leave you here, I’ll be writing more soon, but I just had to share this first wave of joy and gratitude.

Mr B is supposed to get us grocery but i just got this message from him;

" Found a white mocha w hazelnut and a breakfast burrito so I’m not shopping tired, and hungry"

I asked that he brings us take outs, he says NO!

I am happy here....

Bailey, you’ve won me over anyways....
